Seth, Please stop referring the crime as a “quid pro quo.” Start calling it for what it is. Extortion!

you aren’t wrong BUT, I actually like this softball verbiage being tossed around, remember this is all happening super fast the DNC still hasn’t outlined which offenses they wish to pursue in the impeachment proceedings AND there is at least one separate criminal Investigation into Trumps campaign finances probably another now with Giuliani.

There should be ample time in the coming months to come to properly dissect and analyze all the various ‘High Crimes and Misdemeanors’ on which he will be charged.

Quid Pro Quo, Bribery, Extortion…all the same thing. The Trump defenders keep saying ‘how can a phone call be a high crime or misdemeanor?’ Well, it doesn’t have to be, because the Constitution says “Treason, bribery, or high crimes and misdemeanors”. So, bribery is sufficient. “Mind your fingers. Clang. Say hi you your cell mate, Paco. He’s from Mexico.”

@Hugh Jassman I’m as caucasian as people come. Non-felon here. It doesn’t really matter. The merit/value of words doesn’t really change depending on who speaks them unless those words contradict their actions. For example, your words would remain nonsense no matter what ethnicity or sexual preference you would claim. The contradiction of you claiming to defend against tyranny while outright implying you’re ready to inflict violence characteristic of idiotic nationalistic zeal remains an idiotic contradiction. As for me saying I had some kind of right to your opinion? More idiotic nonsense. I made no such claim. You’re free to hold whatever unintelligent obviously incorrect harmful views you wish. You don’t have a right to be viewed as correct nor do you have some kind of right for your opinion to be considered valid as others. A person could believe gravity is a lie. Such a stupid opinion is one they have a right to hold while being obviously false, unhealthy, and nonsensical. They have no right against others calling them out for spouting bullshit. Similarly here, you have a right to hold on to your harmful delusions and believe the statistically disprovable fear mongering lies of the alt right. Pretending someone disagreeing with your idiocy on the internet is equivalent to an authoritarian usurping of your ideas remains dishonest, idiotic nonsense. But of course, that’s all you really have. Yet again, you’ve failed to produce a valid argument. I wonder what garbage you’ll try to peddle next?

@jacegil You want more? – “Russia should use its special forces within the borders of the United States to fuel instability and separatism, for instance, provoke “Afro-American racists”. Russia should “introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics.”

“The United Kingdom should be cut off from Europe.”

From Aleksandr Dugin’s 1997 book ‘Foundations of Geopolitics’, a book that has had a large influence within the Russian military, police, and foreign policy elites and was allegedly used as a textbook in the General Staff Academy of the Russian military.

      Who is Aleksandr Dugin?

A Russian Orthodox Christian with no official government title, but highly influential, Dugin is the guy who travelled to Turkey and succeeded in restoring relations after Turkey’s downing of a Russian military jet on the Syrian border. He did the job so well that Turkey is now closer to Russia than it is to the rest of NATO.

In common with other Russian Orthodox Christians, the Muslims of Chechnya, the Muslims of Iran, and right-wing Christian groups in the US, he hates feminists, gays, “godlessness” and western liberalism in general.

Lindsey Graham says about the impeachment inquiry, “I’ve written the whole process off.” Ok, he’s going to be a juror in the impeachment trial. If a juror in a trial says to the judge, I’m not paying attention to any of this, I’m not reading the evidence, etc… That juror would be immediately disqualified and dismissed. So, maybe it is time for Mr. Graham to resign his senatorial seat and be part of Mr. Trump’s legal team.

@sorellman So I guess Bolton, Mulvaney, Taylor and all the other REPUBLICANS that have come forward to CONFIRM the whistleblowers claims are also hidden democrats? Suuuure. Think the only one asleep here is you and the other MAGA’s

Second, Youtube this was posted last night. Latest I can find was a couple days ago. Source?

Third the whistlblower is a CIA operative. Saying he is a democrat as a means of discrediting his statements is a weak strawman that works both ways. Any republican that makes a negative claim about a dem can thus likewise be disregarded as bias. So ALL of the Hillary case should be disregarded since Republicans were involved, beside the fact they found not evidence of INTENT (note the caps, intent, the same thing that was lacking on the russian collusion, but that trump still performed obstruction). Typical for the right to reach for anything when they can’t fight the substance.

Fourth and finally, it is not uncommon to keep a Whistlblowers name anonymous until the initial investigation is complete, to find out if the claims have substance. The dems only stated there may not be a need to reveal the whistleblower only AFTER the evidence (you know that thing used to prove the crime) began flooding in.

@Lester Walker If the Dems were “Low IQ”, they would have tried to impeach Trump on all sorts of other things he’s done that wouldn’t have nearly as much impact as this Ukraine scandal.

@Anna Lieff-Saxby I’m not sure it is from Plato. I’ve read Plato.

@Da Q Ron Ron I haven’t read all the Dialogues: I presume, if the quote exists, it’ll be in one of those. Unlikely to be from The Republic. Edit: I didn’t mean it had to be Plato rather than somone else, but that we have no direct quotes from Socrates save for those in Plato. Unless some of the dialogue in Aristophanes’ Clouds is accurate.
(I see your philosopher and raise you a playwright).
